Did you know Pawhuska is home to the largest protected renmant of tallgrass prairie on the earth, and one of the largest bison herds in the country? Take it all in with a 50 mile loop through the heart of the prairie and adjacent private ranches.

WOOLAROC MUSEUM & WILDLIFE PRESERVE

Hidden away in the rugged Osage Hills, Woolaroc was the ranch retreat of oilman Frank Phillips and is now a 3,700 acre wildlife preserve and world-class art museum. Come and see why Will Rogers called it “the most unique place in this country.”

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN PAWHUSKA

Experience Pawhuska’s thriving shopping district, locally owned restaurants, and unique boutiques and antique stores.

BEN JOHNSON COWBOY MUSEUM

Dedicated to World Champion Roper and Oscar-winning actor Ben Johnson, you’ll find an amazing collection featuring notable Osage cowboys, cowgirls, and western heritage. Take in the county’s ranching history alongside displays of local artwork and spurs and saddles made by local craftsmen.

PIONEER WOMAN MERCANTILE

No trip to Pawhuska is complete without a visit to ‘The Merc’ — The Pioneer Woman’s restaurant, bakery, and store located in Pawhuska’s historic downtown.

OSAGE NATION MUSEUM

Come visit the oldest tribal museum in the country devoted to Osage art, history, and culture. Admission is free.

OSAGE HILLS STATE PARK

Visit Osage Hills State Park for lush forests, rocky bluffs, and serene waters. Go fishing, take a hike, or just revel in the park's 1,100 acres of scenery.
